FAQ

Can you proofread my publication?

Yes, we can check the proofs of your publication, either on paper or on screen, and mark them up using BSI proofreader's marks so that the typesetter can make any necessary corrections. If you send us your publication electronically we may be able to make the corrections for you directly, depending on the file format.

Can you format my work for a particular journal?

Yes we can format your document in whatever style you require. Simply include the stylesheet or formatting specifications with your document.

What file formats can you accept?

We can work on Adobe PDFs, Microsoft documents, Open Office documents, InDesign and many other common file formats.

How quickly can you edit my document?

How long is a piece of string? This depends on the size and complexity of your document: timescales vary with the nature of the work. We will be able to make an estimate once we've seen a sample of the work, so get in touch if you would like to discuss it.

Can you do it quicker than that?

Yes, we can try. Tell us when your deadline is and we will tell you whether we can meet it. There will be a surcharge for working unsociable hours though.

Can you typeset my document?

Yes we provide typsetting services using InDesign, Pagemaker or Quark. We can provide PDFs for printing, or other file formats. Please contact us for further details.

Do you edit student papers?

Yes we do, however we must stress that our ethical principles prevent us from rewriting papers that are part of a student's assessment. The academic and intellectual content of the document remain the student's responsibility; ours is to ensure that the work is presented in clear, correct English.

Do you accept payment in currencies other than sterling?

We can accept payment in euros. Other currencies may incur exchange commission charges.

Can you tell me how much it will cost?

If you would like an estimate please email your document to quote@faircopy.co.uk or contact us by email or by telephone (see the Contacts page) to discuss your requirements.
